Papia Das Antuda, i spent whole evening reading this. Excellent. I tried to explain the whole story to Sayak and Paravi as best as i could. They were excited,proud and amazed. Sayak's question was 'can I see the doll?' and Paravi's was 'can I hold the doll?'. That young picture of masima is beautiful. Enjoyed it very much. Thank you.

Sir, what a fascinating article! Thank you so much. I read it once and then twice over. Such a brilliant piece! Parts of it gave me goosebumps. While reading accounts of India's freedom struggle in History books, we often fail to realise the amount of sacrifice that friends and families of the freedom fighters we read so much about had to make. Reading your article made me realise the magnitude of the struggle that people close to those who were active soldiers in the battlefield had to go through, which if not more, was by no means, any less than what the freedom fighters themselves underwent. For me reading this article was an emotional journey, from the first word till the last. I really love the way you write - so vivid that in the end it almost feels like I had travelled back in time and watched the events unfold before my eyes. I was transported to a different world altogether! Sir, I am so thankful that you are taking the pains of documenting these incidents. There is so much to be known and learnt from things such as these. I will share this article with my friends. Thank you once again for such a brilliant treat! An article like this is a treasure - it is priceless! Looking forward to more from you.
রুদ্ধশ্বাসে এমনভাবে পড়ে যাওয়া যাতে একটা অক্ষর ও ভুলক্রমেও বাদ না পড়ে, পড়তে পড়তে অজান্তেই অবারিত অশ্রু, অন্তর স্থল এর আবেগের টানাপড়েন এবং তারপরে স্তব্ধ হয়ে থাকা বেশ কিছুক্ষণ। এরকম ই ছিল প্রাথমিক প্রতিক্রিয়া কালকে পড়বার পরে। ভাষাতীত সে অনুভূতির ভাষায় প্রকাশ প্রকারান্তরে অবমাননা হলেও ভাষা ছাড়া আর আমাদের প্রকাশের কোনো পথ নেই বলেই এখানে লেখা। এক্ষেত্রে তাই বেশী কথা বলে সেই আবেগ, সেই আগুন, সেই ত্যাগ এর অমর্যাদা করলাম না। কারণ সেই সব দিন, সেই সব মানুষ, সেই সব পরিবার-পরিজন আমাদের মুক্তি আলোয় আলো করে গেছেন স্বীকৃতির পরোয়া না করেই! তাই 'মুক্তির মন্দির সোপানতলে' সশ্রদ্ধ প্রনাম রেখে গেলাম। যে লেখা এরকম সত্য তথ্য কে যুগান্তরের সীমা পেরিয়ে আমাদের বোধের গভীরে উত্তীর্ণ করতে পারে, সেরকম আরো অনেক লেখা পড়বার তৃষ্ণা রইলো।

এক কথায় দারুণ হয়েছে,বিশ্বনাথ তোমার এই স্বদেশী আন্দোলনের ওপর লেখা। পড়তে পড়তে মনে হয়েছে আমিও তখনকার যুগে চলে গেছি। আমার জন্ম অসমের শিলচরে। অভিরাম ওরফে উল্লাসকর দত্তকে দেশ স্বাধীন হওয়ার পর শিলচরে নিয়ে যাওয়া হয়েছিলো।উনি আন্দামানে ইংরেজ পুলিশের অত্যাচার সহ্য করতে না পেরে মানসিক ভারসাম্য হারিয়ে ফেলেছিলেন।শিলচরেই উনি মারা যান। শিলচরের যে এলাকায় উনি শেষ জীবন কাটিয়েছিলেন ওই এলাকার নাম "উল্লাসকর দত্ত সরণী" রাখা হয়েছে। জেনে খুশী হলাম যে তুমি ও সোমনাথ এক বিপ্লবী পরিবারের বংশধর।আমার ছোটকাকু(স্বর্গীয় সুধীর চন্দ্র দাস) যাদবপুর ইঞ্জিনীয়ারিং কলেজের final year-এর ছাত্র থাকা অবস্হায়(final exam.-এর ছ'মাস বাকী ছিলো) স্বদেশী আন্দোলনে ঝাঁপিয়ে পড়েছিলেন। উনি বছর দু'য়েক যা:ই:কলেজ ছাত্র সংস্হার সাধারণ সম্পাদক(General Secretary)ছিলেন। প্রাক-স্বাধীনতা যুগে উনি তৎকালীন কোলকাতার Presidency Jail-এ এবং Alipur Jail-এ বেশ কিছুদিন কাটিয়েছিলেন। পশ্চিম বঙ্গের প্রাক্তন মূখ্যমন্ত্রী স্বর্গীয় প্রফুল্ল চন্দ্র সেন-ও ছোটকাকুর সাথে ওই দুই Jail-এ বন্দী ছিলেন। ছোটকাকুর কথা তোমায় পরে বলবো।

ReplyDeleteএক কথায় দারুণ হয়েছে,বিশ্বনাথ তোমার এই স্বদেশী আন্দোলনের ওপর লেখা। পড়তে পড়তে মনে হয়েছে আমিও তখনকার যুগে চলে গেছি। আমার জন্ম অসমের শিলচরে। অভিরাম ওরফে উল্লাসকর দত্তকে দেশ স্বাধীন হওয়ার পর শিলচরে নিয়ে যাওয়া হয়েছিলো।উনি আন্দামানে ইংরেজ পুলিশের অত্যাচার সহ্য করতে না পেরে মানসিক ভারসাম্য হারিয়ে ফেলেছিলেন।শিলচরেই উনি মারা যান। শিলচরের যে এলাকায় উনি শেষ জীবন কাটিয়েছিলেন ওই এলাকার নাম "উল্লাসকর দত্ত সরণী" রাখা হয়েছে। জেনে খুশী হলাম যে তুমি ও সোমনাথ এক বিপ্লবী পরিবারের বংশধর।আমার ছোটকাকু(স্বর্গীয় সুধীর চন্দ্র দাস) যাদবপুর ইঞ্জিনীয়ারিং কলেজের final year-এর ছাত্র থাকা অবস্হায়(final exam.-এর ছ'মাস বাকী ছিলো) স্বদেশী আন্দোলনে ঝাঁপিয়ে পড়েছিলেন। উনি বছর দু'য়েক যা:ই:কলেজ ছাত্র সংস্হার সাধারণ সম্পাদক(General Secretary)ছিলেন। প্রাক-স্বাধীনতা যুগে উনি তৎকালীন কোলকাতার Presidency Jail-এ এবং Alipur Jail-এ বেশ কিছুদিন কাটিয়েছিলেন। পশ্চিম বঙ্গের প্রাক্তন মূখ্যমন্ত্রী স্বর্গীয় প্রফুল্ল চন্দ্র সেন-ও ছোটকাকুর সাথে ওই দুই Jail-এ বন্দী ছিলেন। ছোটকাকুর কথা তোমায় পরে বলবো।
